…white individuals, of course. Which means that solutions like segregation/apartheid are ham-fisted and totally unfair to these high IQ blacks. For more info on the IQ and race thing, I recommend the book IQ and the Wealth of Nations by Richard Lynn and Tatu Vanhanen.

The eugenic and IQ based theories are politically unacceptable. "A Farewell to Alms" and "IQ and the Wealth of Nations" lay out very convincing and heavily researched cases that explain different national economies very well. The explanations are just not PC.
on “Why nations fail” ↗Once again Occam's butterknife is spotted in the wild. Richard Lynn, call your office: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IQ_and_the_Wealth_of_Nations
on “Why nations fail” ↗…always use the thoroughly debunked "IQ Map" (https://iq-research.info/en/page/average-iq-by-country) as their source. It is based on data fabricated by Lynn and Vanhanen and jotted down in their book IQ and the Wealth of Nations. > What about black people's domination of most sports? Even if we assume that is true (which it isn't -- 972 medals were awarded at the 2016 Summer Olympics and only a fraction of them went to (really)…
on “Ex-Google Employee's Memo Says Executives Shut Down Pro-Diversity Discussions” ↗…says that "There is no evidence to support the idea that the top 1 percent consists mostly of people of "exceptional talent."" Actually, there is some evidence for this. A while ago, I read the book IQ and the Wealth of Nations by Richard Lynn and Tatu Vanhanen. It mentions a few studies looking at the correlation between IQ and income. If I remember correctly, the correlation was 0.3 to 0.4 in all of the studies.
on “Make elites compete: Why the 1% earn so much and what to do about it” ↗…latitudinal IQ surveys. Very few people reading HN have ever been asked to take an IQ test, let alone compelled to do so. Numbers attributing "IQ" to countries are generally fraudulent (i.e., Richard Lynn's "IQ And The Wealth Of Nations" numbers). I'm not making any other claim than that specific one: there is no such thing as "national IQ averages". If you claim there's some other kind of "IQ average" that isn't "national", you're…
on “U.S. Officials Believed Israel Was Plotting to Kill Iranian Negotiators” ↗…always use the thoroughly debunked "IQ Map" (https://iq-research.info/en/page/average-iq-by-country) as their source. It is based on data fabricated by Lynn and Vanhanen and jotted down in their book IQ and the Wealth of Nations. In terms of the debunked "IQ Map", that's not really what I was referring to. The Bell Curve is also a (admittedly controversial) source. I would like to know how that map is "debunked", you simply…
on “Ex-Google Employee's Memo Says Executives Shut Down Pro-Diversity Discussions” ↗Singapore had no resources other than the brains of its people; they were the underclass who were booted out of Malaysia Han Chinese are not Malays. From Appendix 1 of "IQ and the Wealth of Nations" by Lynn & Vanhanen (p218): Singapore In 1974, data for a representative sample of 147 ethnic Chinese and 190 ethnic Malay 13-year-olds for the Standard Progressive Matrices were collected (Lynn, 1976).…

on “Countries with the Highest / Lowest Average IQ” ↗Perhaps this depends on the speed of your brain? You know, different people score differently on IQ tests. For example, some score 140 while others score 70. I read (in the book IQ and the Wealth of Nations by Richard Lynn and Tatu Vanhanen, I think) that what an IQ test basically does, is measuring the speed of your brain. So I guess intelligent people will be able to understand everything on 2x while…
on “Sorry, You Can’t Speed Read” ↗No. There is essentially no credible research anywhere that ranks countries like this. People are usually citing Richard Lynn's "IQ and the Wealth Of Nations", which has a risible methodology; that paper gives India an 82, not a 77, which is interesting only to the extent that it muddies the waters of where this author got that absurd claim from. Any time…
on “India: It's Worse Than You Think” ↗There are no such things as "IQ scores by country". If you're thinking about the data behind "IQ and the Wealth of Nations", the Richard Lynn stuff, it's basically fraudulent.
…https://reflectivealtruism.com/2024/12/27/human-biodiversity... 1/3 of the users at acx actually support flawed scientific theories that would explain iq on a scientific basis. The Lynn study on iq is also quite flawed https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/IQ_and_the_Wealth_of_Nations If you want to read about human biodiversity, https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_Biodiversity_Institute As I said, it's not very rational of them to support such theories. And of course as you scratch…
on “Guess I'm a rationalist now” ↗…Americans at 85 and sub-Saharan Africans at "approaching 70" is wildly, luridly wrong. The source (or the sole source it gives me) is "human-intelligence.org", which in turn cites Richard Lynn, author of "IQ and the Wealth of Nations"; Lynn's data is essentially fraudulent. Anybody claiming to have a simple answer to the question you posed has to grapple with two big problems: 1. There has never been a global study of IQ across…
on “Center for the Alignment of AI Alignment Centers” ↗This the "cold winters theory", popularized by the academic fraudster Richard Lynn (of "IQ and the Wealth of Nations" fame). It's a just-so story. You could tell the same story about the selective pressure for intelligence and problem-solving in hot climates; try to eat in the Kalahari sometime. Really, the more you…
