In The Chasm Companion, The Chasm Group's Paul Wiefels presents readers with a new analysis of the ideas introduced in bestselling author Geoffrey Moore's classic books, Crossing the Chasm and Inside the Tornado, and focuses on how to translate these ideas into actionable strategy and implementation programs. This step-by-step fieldbook is organized around three major concepts: how high-tech markets develop, creating market development strategy, and executing go-to-market programs based on the strategy.

…success. But of course business ideas can only help you so much. In the end execution will matter a lot. A very good complementary book to go with these, and about market dynamics and market development, is Chasm Companion. It includes all the theories from Crossing the Chasm, Inside the Tornado, etc, and is more like a handbook with actionable advice, too.

Facebook sort of followed the model. It built for a niche first, then for other niches, then the niches collided with each other and they start building for mainstream and standardizing their product. Chasm Companion book(and Crossing the Chasm, Inside the Tornado) explains this very well. http://www.princeton.edu/~guanchun/Books/The%20Chasm%20Compa...

You could've gotten the same insights if you read (and understood) 2 books: Innovator's Dilemma and Chasm Companion. They are extremely insightful books about why companies succeed (and fail) and I felt that most of his assumptions came from the theories in those books, because I've been saying those things for over…

After you finish that one, check out Blue Ocean Strategy. It's mostly the same theory but from some different points of view, and applied to many different industries, not just tech. Also Chasm Companion complements these books very well (you may want to read Crossing the Chasm and Inside the Tornado which expand on some of the concepts in Chasm Companion, too). Does anyone else know any other books…

…startups to shape their products into something with a high potential for success. Blue Ocean Strategy is also a similar and great book, and the Chasm books series (Crossing the Chasm, Inside the Tornado, Chasm Companion) are very good complementary books to Innovator's Dilemma (and Innovator's Solution).

Two mandatory books I would read are: The Innovator's Dilemma and Chasm Companion. They should help you better recognize good ideas for businesses that have a stronger potential to succeed. If you want to expand on the ideas in those books there are also Innovator's Solution, Blue…
