Do you have any particular books to recommend? I've read Money by Tony Robbins. Good book, even though the guy himself is a little too much for me
on “Stanford CS007: Personal Finance For Engineers” ↗If you are just staring out this is a great book: MONEY Master the Game: 7 Simple Steps to Financial Freedom https://smile.amazon.com/dp/1476757860/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_...
on “Ask HN: What are your instruments for investment?” ↗…but not all, though if I had to choose all or nothing, an annuity ensures I will NEVER be broke, I will always have $5,000/mo. Old and broke is a combination I don't want to try. Read Tony Robbins "Money"
on “Would You Rather Have $1M or $5,000 Monthly in Retirement?” ↗…For investing, etc - highly recommend starting with this - https://mebfaber.com/timing-model/ Forget stock picking, it is generally a fool's errand. Also - Tony Robbins did a good job with his book "Money: Master the game". Look up the "All weather strategy" from Ray Dalio referenced in that book. Diversification across non-correlated assets, compounded over time creates wealth.
on “Ask HN: What skills to acquire in 2019?” ↗Made me think (as most of the lessons coincide) about the book I'm reading at the moment - 'Money: Master the Game' by Tony Robbins: http://moneymasterthegame.com/
on “Hard-won lessons about money and investing” ↗…Ross 6. Bigger, Leaner, Stronger by Michael Matthews 7. The Science of Getting Rich: Financial Success Through Creative Thought by WALLACE D. WATTLES (The Barnes & Noble Library of Essential Reads) 8. Money: Master the Game by Tony Robbins 9. Principles by Ray Dalio 10. Como Ganar Amigas e Influir Sobre las Personas by Dale Carnegie 11. Without Their Permission by Alexis Ohanian 12. Tribe by Sebastian…
on “Ask HN: Books you read in 2016?” ↗That's the rub, isn't it. Financial literacy is as contentious a field as nutrition is[1]. I recently got Tony Robbins' Money: Master the Game [2]. It claims to use both common sense principles and tips from investment masters, and ultimately settles upon pretty reasonable ideas (such as choosing index funds and avoiding mutual…
on “Why too much choice is stressing us out” ↗the three books are: "Zero To One" by Peter Thiel, "Let Over Lambda" by Doug Hoyte, "Money: Master The Game" by Tony Robbins
on “Three Books I Can't Live Without” ↗I highly doubt that Tony Robbins' "Money" was on David Bowie's list of his 100 favorite books. I had to read "Money", and it was crap. And David Bowie was a man of discriminating taste. Money was published in late 2014 and Bowie died two years…
