…a look> http://clojurekoans.com/ Bookwise, I thought the following were pretty good: 'Clojure in Action' by Amit Rathore and 'Clojure Programming' by Chas Emerick are both solid intro Clojure books. 'Web Development with Clojure' by Dmitri Sotnikov is also a great book, which obviously comes with more of a web-slant. And I'd give a second thumbs up for 'Clojure for the Brave and True'.

Splendid question! I'm also an experienced C++ developer and I've been wondering the same thing myself for quite some time. Personally I found a wonderful step-by-step book from Pragmatic Press "Web Development with Clojure: Build Bulletproof Web Apps with Less Code" http://pragprog.com/book/dswdcloj/web-development-with-cloju.... The book explains in step-by-step fashion and working example code how to build a web app from…

…never built a SPA before, let alone ever build a web application in Clojure/S suppose to get started? I think that Clojure for the Brave and True is a good place to start for Clojure in general, while Web Development with Clojure: Build Large, Maintainable Web Applications Interactively covers the web app side of things. …active community forums, especially https://clojureverse.org/ and https://clojurians.zulipchat.com/ (which aggregates many sources). I originally started my Clojure professional journey with the book Web Development with Clojure, which just (second half of 2023) put out a new edition, which I am excited to read soon. It led me to a "batteries included" collection in Luminus, which I expect has changed to Kit (same author, latest…

I don't know about that. Dmitri Sotnikov, joint author of "Web Development With Clojure", worked on a similar app and didn't even need types or OOP let alone a monster like Spring.

…libraries like Scotty? Something that shows you how to slap together a solid cabal sandboxed ready-to-deploy application that's a mix of Scotty/Persistant/Esqueleto and all the other basics? Clojure has "Web Development with Clojure" which is basically what I listed above, except for Clojure rather than Haskell.

If only the Clojure(script) community would keep an up-to-date full guide on how to do modern web development with Clojure+ClojureScript... I'm 1000% sold on Clojure (and have done some production back-end tools with it), but every time I try to do front end or mobile, I struggle without outdated guides or books and relative…

…specialize in. Next I'll decide on a project to establish my specialization. The books are: The Joy of Clojure, Functional Programming Patterns in Scala and Clojure, Seven Languages in Seven Weeks, and Web Development with Clojure. I also want to read The Rails Way (or something similar, since I don't have formal training in Rails) and a book on algorithms. [1]: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1OrBr3KPDjeJBcXdKFJ2vE3tg...

Web Development with Clojure (3rd edition) comes out later this year. It's got both Clojure and ClojureScript in it. In fact, even Clojure books that aren't focused on web development tend to have a ClojureScript section in them.…

I haven't read it, but the developer of Luminus (a collection of libraries, not a framework) authored this fairly recently: Web Development with Clojure: Build Bulletproof Web Apps with Less Code (https://pragprog.com/book/dswdcloj/web-development-with-cloj...) I actually did build something basic following the book Web Development With Clojure (https://github.com/jumarko/web-development-with-clojure), but honestly the way the code snippets were presented in the book were sometimes difficult to use if trying to follow along and build it yourself.…
