…Kingkiller Chronicles and now, despite its author’s claim around the time the first was published that all three were ready to go in quick succession. But it is 27 years since volume 4 of David Gerrold’s War Against The Chtorr.
on “Valve secrets spill over in new Steam documentary app” ↗…too pleased with not finishing the job either. In SF earlier we had Harlan Ellison's postponed-to-irrelevancy third volume of Dangerous Visions anthologies, and David Gerrold's meandered-into-a-corner War Against the Chtorr.
on “Entitlement issues (2009)” ↗> could take GoT a lot further Why would you want to do that? That horse is tired, that cow is milked, give it a rest. But hey, I had David Gerrold's War Against the Chtorr for training wheels ;-)
on “A forgery scandal that’s roiling PC game collecting” ↗Pffft. Amateur. David Gerrold is never going to finish the "War Against the Chtorr" series. The last book was 1993. We're about to hit 4 decades since the last book.
on “Amazon spending $465M on season 1 of The Lord of the Rings series” ↗David Gerrold started an interesting series of SF books - War Against the Chtorr - with a similar premise, but the invasive species were a deliberate attack by aliens. "Terraformation", but the other way around. Unfortunately the series went off the rails and is unfinished after…
on “A weed is swallowing the Sonoran Desert” ↗…1983, is projected to run to 19 books with 17 done. Brust is 70, but he appears to be in reasonable shape, and the books have been pretty regular of late, so it looks like he'll finish. I also read the War Against the Chtorr series by David Gerrold. That also started in 1983, but the last published book, the 4th of 7, came out in 1993. Gerrold being 81, despite his claims for almost a decade that books 5 and 6 are near completion,…
on “Paperbacks and TikTok” ↗…incompletus". My sci-fi/fantasy reading habit broke because I refused to start any series that wasn't finished. Suddenly, 99% of sci-fi/fantasy disappeared. My only hope for David Gerrold to finish the "War Against the Chtorr" series is for him to have notes that he hands to someone else. The last book was 36 years ago! Don't complain to me about George R. R. Martin. Amateurs.
on “Text Is King” ↗I have been waiting since 1993 for the fifth part of The War Against the Chtorr.
on “Netflix is creating a problem by cancelling TV shows too soon” ↗…start with air bursting the bioweapons, spreading the plagues to weaken us. Which ah, also fits this incident. 1) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chelyabinsk_meteor 2) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_War_Against_the_Chtorr
