Why HN recommends it

A clear, practical take on spirituality, not new-age, about letting go of fear-based thoughts and everyday stress. Readers use it as self-help or even therapy for anxiety and depression, and many reread it.

Two books that I have found very helpful for one's mental state: - Untethered Soul by Michael Singer - Power of NOW by Ekhart Tolle They are geared to help one be in the present moment. Try reading "The Untethered Soul" by Michael Singer and/or "Letting Go" by David Hawkins. Depression could be partly due to an acquired habit of always paying attention to fear based thoughts (like lacking xyz), which came from evolution.…

There are a lot great comments, tips and tricks in here to help you cope. The only thing I’d recommend that I didn’t see here is to read this small book: The untethered soul by Michael Singer It teaches you how to disconnect your Self from your thoughts and emotions and instead just to observe them. I found it a great read whether one is depressed or not.

…modern "vagus nerve connection/mind body" books or childhood/adult trauma books talk about this phenomena of the pain "being in your head". There's also John Sarno's book about back pain. What about the untethered soul perspective by Michael Singer? I was a huge skeptic of this type of "healing" for my whole life. When I was extremely depressed and experiencing immense pain in my chest area on a daily basis for 14…

…and integrate your anxiety etc. This set me off on a harder path of more abstract therapy (I'm working with an integrative therapist who practices across IFS, Jungian etc), meditation etc. The book the untethered soul, by Michael Singer helped a lot to put everything into perspective - the therapy, the anxiety, the day to day - in a way that nothing else had really achieved for me. Also, a key conclusion of Cartwrights…
