Quick and fun read on this: The Road not Taken by Harry Turtledove https://pastebin.com/aJQfubrK
on “The alien space of science: Coherent but cognitively unavailable directions” ↗…Iain M. Banks Pale Blue Dot - Carl Sagan The God Delusion - Richard Dawkins "Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference." from "The Road not Taken" by Robert Frost
on “Articles, Ideas, Books and/or Concepts that have changed your life” ↗The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost is also an excellent poem. https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/44272/the-road-not-ta...
on “Ask HN: Have you found something you love to do? If yes how?” ↗…years ago I read through his complete works. Highly recommend doing so, but I will say that, unlike with many (most?) other poets, I found that the Robert Frost poems you already know--Mending Wall, The Road Not Taken, Fire and Ice, Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening--are indeed his best. There are plenty of other good ones and some truly great lines as well, but it was oddly reassuring to find out.
on “America's Great Poet of Darkness: A Reconsideration of Robert Frost at 150” ↗This is also (arguably) the point of "The Road Not Taken" by Robert Frost. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Road_Not_Taken
on “Ask HN: How did you decide what problems to solve in your lifetime?” ↗…get part of the apparently correct answer that abruptly disappears and is replaced by "Sorry, my mistake, I cannot answer that right now." At this moment it is reliably reproducible for Show me "The Road Not Taken" by Robert Frost. (a question that is funnily enough reachable through those suggested): https://www.bing.com/search?q=Show+me+%22The+Road+Not+Taken%.... Begins to print out the poem but ends up with…
on “ChatGPT: Fear Litany” ↗…any predictions whether going the "road less traveled by" leads to success (whatever that means) and assume that "all the difference" equals good (whereas it's rather neutral). [1] Robert Frost: The Road Not Taken (http://www.bartleby.com/119/1.html)
on “Things I’d Tell My 21 Year Old Entrepreneurial Self” ↗Robert Frost's The Road Not Taken revolves around the fact that both pathways inevitably lead to the same end though: >" Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the same," >" I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere…
on “What If You Could Do It All Over?” ↗Reminds me of the poem The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost. Initially it seems like it's a poem about working hard and taking risks, but it's actually about old people lying to themselves, trying to forget that their success was actually just…
on “PhD Simulator” ↗Robert Frost's, often misinterpreted [0], “The Road Not Taken” also comes to mind here. "In many ways, the poem becomes about how—through retroactive narrative—the poet turns something as irrational as an “impulse” into a triumphant, intentional decision. Decisions…
