on “Ask HN: Which books do you wish you'd read earlier in life?” ↗In the context of this article, I recommend my fellow HN community members to read a wonderful book on the same topic: https://www.amazon.com/Miracle-Morning-Not-So-Obvious-Guaran... (NOT a referral link) Before, here's me trying to plan something, usually stuck on a petty issue, that is dependent on something else, and this task would be put aside for so…
on “4 a.m. Is the Most Productive Hour” ↗…you married too..? Lol. Well.. About 7 months later I'm coming across your post in my hacker newsletter email and I have this to offer you (for your journey will be different from mine) : Books: The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod, The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, and the Millionaire Fastlane by MJ Demarco. Learn as much from your job while you read these and then follow your heart when you decide to follow the signs.…

on “I let a stranger watch me work for a day and I've never been more productive” ↗Hello, that's simple... do it before starting your job. Must read: "Miracle morning by Al Elrod". And use a habit tracker to be steady.
on “Ask HN: How do I find energy to work on hobbies after the work day ends?” ↗It sounds really cheesy (and to be honest, it is a bit cheesy,) but The Miracle Morning[0] is a set of habits…collected into a system by Hal Elrod that have been very beneficial to me. The habits are: * Silence (this could be meditation or prayer if that’s your thing) * Affirmations (this…
on “Ask HN: Habits that have improved your life in many dimensions” ↗…the morning! It's not a big deal for those who can get up easily, but I struggle to get up even at 8 AM and then have to rush things. I have also tried "The 5 AM Club" by Robin Sharma and excellent "The Miracle Morning" by Hal Elrod but to no avail. Currently, on a 57 day streak! Please don't ask what time I get up as it's still late from the point of view of morning people :)
on “The Simple Guide to Building and Breaking Habits” ↗I've recently started following the routine described in the 'Miracle Morning' book (hate the name) and it's been pretty great. I was adamant at first but turns out the benefits are there. Never before I've looked forward in waking up at 5am everyday.
on “Ask HN: What is your experience with 'doing something' daily challenges?” ↗…that necessitates sleep. There have been studies (sorry don't have references handy) that show people who are sleep deprived are less likely to exercise self-constraint. I would recommend the book "Miracle Morning" if you are interested in more. As to not being productive in the morning, there is a consistency of waking up at the same time that needs to happen. In my experience, it takes 10-20 days before you…
on “The annoying habits of highly effective people” ↗Just to plus one - also really enjoyed "The Miracle Morning". Great way to think about structuring your day, and a short read. Earlier may or may not help, but should be read at a time when you are striving to improve yourself, but maybe not finding the success…
on “Ask HN: Which books do you wish you'd read earlier in life?” ↗That's what Miracle Morning (great book) suggests you do. Wake up early and get your personal affairs and goals done while everyone else is sleeping. Less distractions in the morning too!
on “Ask HN: How to find the energy for side projects after day job?” ↗…bad habits. You'll still read mindlessly and procrastinate during other times. However, you won't always be doing that. You're going to have a better base to work from. Later you can read books like Miracle Morning to improve your morning habits, Bullet Journal to create short notes for yourself to work from later, and How To Take Smarter Notes to get a deeper dive on the topic of active reading than anyone in the…

I bought a book called "642 things to draw" which makes it very easy.) -10 Minute Reading -10 Minute Exercise (simple do it at home exercises) This type of routine is discussed in books like The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod and Level Up Your Day by S.J. Scott and Rebecca Livermore. Once you get into the swing of things it keeps you on a good schedule for sleeping and waking up early. This gives me a lot more…
