…fight or change it, so seeing a therapist first to work through that might be a good idea. I've been listening to a lot of ADHD audiobooks lately. The one I've liked best so far is Nancy Ratey's _The Disorganized Mind_ -- she has ADHD herself and she's the wife of John Ratey, co-author of Driven to Distraction. She kind of invented ADHD coaching and the book is about how to coach yourself.
on “Ask HN: Feeling guilty for doing the bare minimum at work” ↗One book along those specific lines is The Disorganized Mind by Nancy Ratey http://www.thedisorganizedmind.com/ Spark by her husband John Ratey might also be of interest.
on “Autodidactism for the chronically lazy and hyperactive” ↗…after drinking an energy drink. Bonus points if despite "doing nothing" you still intake lots of caffeine. Congrats! You might be self-medicating without knowing it. Everyone will recommend the book The Disorganized Mind for lots of good non-medication strategies and I'm no different. It's fantastic.
