Issued in two states: 500 copies with a numbered leaf signed by the author inserted and a 3,500-copy trade edition. Both editions had the same dustjacket and price. "This first edition is limited to 4,000 copies of which 500 are numbered and autographed."

…said to be excellent (because it's a tandem seating design), with the downside that the passenger was always relegated to the back seat... Gyrocars also featured in the awesome science fiction novel Sinister Barrier, by Eric Frank Russell (published in 1943!).
on “Gyrocar” ↗…here it's us. Or it's a question of point of view, after all, Trisolaris sees us as "bugs" in the novel. I grant this "zoo hypothesis" is old, with many variations like those of Charles Ford or 1939' "Sinister Barrier" of Eric Frank Russel: This book frightens me every time I re-read it! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinister_Barrier
on “Advancing Space Technology and Preparing to Meet Aliens Through Multilateralism” ↗An old (1943) and frightening one by Eric Frank Russell: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinister_Barrier Russell employed the idea that we humans are property of some more highly evolved beings that live in a realm that we cannot see.
on “'Zoo hypothesis' may explain why we haven't seen any space aliens” ↗…highly evolved beings that live in a realm that we cannot see. Those invisible beings are immaterial: they are made of energy and Russell compares them to ball lightning." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinister_Barrier
on “US urged to reveal UFO evidence after claim that it has intact alien vehicles” ↗Echoes of "Sinister Barrier" by Eric Frank Russell, a famous 1940s SF novel (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinister_Barrier). If scientists begin dying mysteriously, these researchers might be onto something! ;-)
