"Providing a comprehensive introduction to quantum field theory, this textbook covers the development of particle physics from its foundations to the discovery of the Higgs boson. Its combination of clear physical explanations, with direct connections to experimental data, and mathematical rigor make the subject accessible to students with a wide variety of backgrounds and interests. Assuming only an undergraduate-level understanding of quantum mechanics, the book steadily develops the Standard Model and state-of-the art calculation techniques. It includes multiple derivations of many importan

on “LIGO black hole echoes hint at general-relativity breakdown” ↗Isn't doing physics in a mathematically rigorous way very hard or close to impossible? I think Quantum Field Theory and the Standard Model remain non-rigorous because of their dependence on path integrals.
on “So You Want to Learn Physics (2016)” ↗…Zee, a highly recommended and pretty accessible book (to the degree a book on QFT can be accessible), for the computation of g for the electron to one loop order. That calculation can also be found in “Quantum field theory and the Standard Model” by Schwartz in Chapter 17 (p. 321). I’m not aware of a textbook exposition of the calculations relevant for the muon g.
