If you want the Lovecraftian mythos to be a thing, then the field of chaos magic (popularised largely by Peter J Carroll in Liber Null and Psychonaut) is an interesting one. For traditional ritual/ceremonial magic The Heptameron is possibly the easiest of the old grimoires to read, and whilst he has his detractors Joseph Lisiewski's…
on “Marked by Stars – Agrippa's Occult Philosophy” ↗My apologies: I just saw your request. You also don't have an email published so I'm not able to send it to you directly. I would heartily recommend Liber Null and Psychonaut. You may choose to buy it via Amazon, but below is the ebook download (multiple formats). https://archive.org/details/LiberNullAndThePsychonaut Please know that most of your change will…
on “Consciousness Began When the Gods Stopped Speaking” ↗I'll be sure to go and check that out! Somewhat unrelated, I'm going through Liber Null, from Pter J Caroll and I find it pretty solid, did you ever read it? It's not Thelema but it's prett close.
on “Aleister Crowley and William Butler Yeats Get into an Occult Battle” ↗…stuff is just cool, and so it's been kind of fun to "allow" myself to dig into some of the various literature out there on "magic". (The whole Chaos Magic thing is full of fun and wacky stuff, check out "Liber Null," for example). I think the Weird Studies pod I mentioned does a much better job than this post outlining the ideas in SSOTBME, and they covered another book, Technic and Magic, that has some similar…
on “Why We Practice Magic” ↗This is basically a chaos magic book updated for the next generation. Like an anime/video game culture version of Peter J. Carroll - Liber Null & Psychonaut. Crowley on the other hand is basically a trust fund kid rebelling against Victorian and Christian morality. I don't think what he was doing makes all that much sense in a secular society…
on “The psychonaut field manual [pdf]” ↗…decades and in the meantime your mind swims in delusions and lies. Curious if there is any reading/study material that you consider reliable for developing mastery? Crowley's Magick: Book IV, Carroll's Liber Null & Psychonaut, or perhaps something completely different?
on “Stargate Project II? Declassified US Government Research in RV and Psi [pdf]” ↗> check out "Liber Null," for example Oh boy. I skimmed the beginning and end of that book, and the author presents some rather... skewed moral sensibilities around sex (See for example "The Red Rite" near the end of the book).…
