You are abducted by aliens known as the U-Ty Masters to be placed in their zoo. This book is notorious for having an ending that requires "cheating" to reach as it cannot be found by following page numbers listed throughout the book.

on “The enduring allure of Choose Your Own Adventure books” ↗The only Choose Your Own Adventure book I had was "Inside UFO 54-40". The objective was to reach the paradise planet called Ultima Thule. Looking through all the pages in the book, there was a page for Ultima Thule, but working backwards there didn't seem to be any page…
on “It’s time to reappraise the humble Choose Your Own Adventure book” ↗They mention "Inside UFO 54-40" but don't have a graph for it :( which is a shame because it would have been the only disconnected graph
on “Maps reveal the structures of ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ books” ↗Not a "bug" but a feature: Inside UFO 54-40 had an ending that you couldn't reach by the normal means. You had to just flip through (cheat?) to find it. The ending was: "No one can chose to visit Ultima," says Elinka. "Nor can you get here by…
on “Maps reveal the structures of ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ books” ↗…child, I was mystified by this CYOA, where I once reached an lavishly favorable ending and on further readings was unable to determine how to get to it again... Great hack. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inside_UFO_54-40#Plot
on “Choose Your Own Adventure – Most Likely You’ll Die ” ↗…times without success, so I flipped the pages to find the picture of Utopia in the middle. Scanning through page by page, I realized there was no way to get there. Fuckers. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inside_UFO_54-40 Edit: Just saw that this enraged and educated other kids just the same.
on “Choose Your Own Adventure – Most Likely You’ll Die ” ↗The ending the sticks with me the most is Inside UFO 54-40. There's a specific ending you cannot reach by following the instructions. You have to "hack" the book and turn to the page directly.
on “Choose Your Own Adventure” ↗…well crafted story. Not a gamification of the style of sci-fi I’d come to know and love. I went back a few times because I really wanted to like them. But there was no way. I still remember the book was Inside UFO 54-40.
