A teen plunges into a downward spiral of addiction in this classic cautionary tale. January 24th After you’ve had it, there isn't even life without drugs… It started when she was served a soft drink laced with LSD in a dangerous party game. Within months, she was hooked, trapped in a downward spiral that took her from her comfortable home and loving family to the mean streets of an unforgiving city. It was a journey that would rob her of her innocence, her youth—and ultimately her life. Read her diary. Enter her world. You will never forget her. For thirty-five years, the acclai

Wow, I wasn't sure if it was just me! Coincidentally that was also the same book I learned about those two being dangerous mixed together. Just curious, have you read "Go ask Alice"?
on “Apple Faceshield” ↗I read it and it seems perfectly fine for teenagers. Go Ask Alice has been something specifically marketed to the same age group for over 50 years and is about a 15-year-old girl being drugged against her will, setting of a spiral off addiction, sex, being raped while…

In the same…
on “A Mormon housewife turned a fake diary into an enormous best-seller” ↗I don't think you've read Go Ask Alice, because your post seems to imply you think Go Ask Alice can serve as a warning about gender. Go Ask Alice is actually an anti-drug book and doesn't really talk about gender at all. They're two very different…
on “Unapproved books now a felony in Manatee County schools” ↗Okay, please believe me when I say Go Ask Alice has nothing to do with Gender Queer except they have very similar sexual content and are targeted to similar age ranges. Go Ask Alice has been considered historically appropriate for teenagers for over…
on “Unapproved books now a felony in Manatee County schools” ↗Gender Queer isn’t a children’s book. It’s a book for older teens, and I think it’s quite appropriate in like a highschool setting for example. Go Ask Alice has worse than that(rape and prostitution and addiction), was published decades ago, and is considered a classic staple of American literature for teens.
on “Book Publishers Won't Stop Until Libraries Are Dead” ↗…recently has there been a shift towards considering harm minimisation and, well, making decisions based on actual science, rather than making decisions based on a 67 year old Member of Parliament reading "Go Ask Alice", and now he knows all about this LED drug the kids are injecting into their eyeballs, and he wants to do something about it.
