For the mathematically inclined, I strongly recommend Frank Morgan's book on Geometric Measure Theory, which is the math of bubbles, essentially: https://www.sciencedirect.com/book/9780128044896/geometric-m...
on “Two new papers explore the physics behind bubbles and foams” ↗…scan quickly for matches to various aspects of the problem at hand. Maybe to some degree my observation here is obvious. But I thought a lot about it while I was in grad school studying a book called Geometric Measure Theory by Herbert Federer. That book is enormous, and full of highly intricate technical proofs that require pulling together a large number of detailed technical facts. The book is also very highly structured,…
on “A Retiree Discovers an Elusive Math Proof (2017)” ↗i'm not totally sure what 'fractal geometry' is, although there is something called 'geometric measure theory'.. the canonical text here is Federer, although it's supposedly a tome. Krantz's _the geometry of domains in space_ appears more approachable. ... also, note that these topics aren't totally separable.
