Donnie Eichar's book Dead Mountain is a good, fun read on it.

on “Ask HN: What were the best books you read this year?” ↗I recommend this book: Dead Mountain by Donnie Eicher. It is a well-researched read of the incident: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/17557470-dead-mountain
