Crystal Society is a science fiction novel about minds: human, alien, and artificial. The book's protagonist is an artificial intelligence: a machine with the capacity to reason. Her goal is to understand and gain the adoration of all humans. One of many siblings, she helps control a robot named Socrates that uses a piece of technology, a crystal computer, that seems far too advanced to be made by human hands. In this world of augmented humans, robotic armies, aliens, traitors, and threats unseen, she is learning and growing every second of every day.

Reminds me of the book "Crystal Society" by Max Harms. It's about a number of AI's sharing the same compute crystal that are forced to compete and collaborate in order to fulfill their differing goals. I love it; it's one of my favorite books.…
on “Everyone is John: A competitive roleplaying game for three or more people (2002)” ↗You might enjoy Crystal Society. It's written from the perspective of an AI with an internal dialogue orchestrated by a few distinct modules. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/28678856-crystal-society
on “Those computers in your head” ↗If you are into AI, Crystal Society was a great 2016 release. You can read it for free online: http://crystal.raelifin.com/society/Prologue
on “Ask HN: What is the best sci-fi you read this year?” ↗…because it didn't provide enough value. I didn't noticed the correlation until now, but last week I started carrying with me my old kindle touch during my commute. It just happened and I'm at Chapter 11 of Crystal Society [http://crystal.raelifin.com/].
