on “Books Every Entrepreneur Should Read” ↗..and a reminder to add Elias Canetti's 1960 masterpiece "Crowds and Power" to your to-read list! He won the Nobel prize in 1981 largely because of this book. You can read it online (as PDF too), at no charge.
on “The Dangerous Power of Crowds (2011)” ↗…like Max Weber or Elias Canetti especially because they invoke a kind of mysticism which is hardly captured by most modern authors and researchers. I remember the impact that reading Elias Canetti's "Crowds and Power" had on me when I was around 16 years of age. It was in my dad's book shelf, an old and battered book. Afterwards I picked up Konrad Lorenz' "On Aggression" from the same book shelf. Good times. I'm…
on “A Sociology of Steve Jobs” ↗I recommend "Crowds & Power" by Elias Canetti. Someone should release an adapted 21st century edition.
on “‘Bird Man’ Hoaxster Comes Clean on Dutch Television” ↗A very nice book on the topic is Elias Canetti's Crowds and Power (Masse und Macht). Canetti won the Nobel Prize in Literate and writes very well. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crowds_and_Power http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Masse_und_Macht

on “Ask HN: Do you read philosophy?” ↗>Crowds and Power, his 1960 magnum opus, captures his wide-ranging scope: Prompted by the mass politics of the early 20th century, it considered how crowds, throughout human history, have needed no leader to exist, to…
on “The Last Cosmopolitan: Elias Canetti’s 20th Century” ↗I try to explore Elias Canetti's Crowds and Power in this series of posts in my new newsletter. I have used p5.js to visualize the initial theory of the fear of being touched by Elias Canetti. Had too much fun doing this. Any notes on what you would…
on “Visualizing Elias Canetti's Crowds and Power 1” ↗Elias Canetti is best known for “Crowds and Power”, which is best known as the inspiration of the poem “On Reading ‘Crowds and Power’” by Geoffrey Hill. Canetti had only written that one book when he got the Nobel Prize, and was mostly unknown. It’s…
