Best book on fat loss and getting ripped is Tom Venuto's "Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle" - http://www.burnthefat.com It's around 500 pages, but once you read it, you'll never have to read another book diet/nutrition. This book, and the title, explains it all.
on “Advice for Successful Dieting” ↗Highly recommend stronglifts as well + the book: burn the fat, feed the muscle ( content is really good, the website of Tom Venuto is awfull though)
on “Exercise as a Preventive or Disease-Modifying Treatment for Dementia Brain Aging” ↗…to “spot train” to reduce inches anywhere on your body, some trainers have been touting high-intensity interval training (HIIT) as the best way to target stomach fat." I'd suggest Tom Venuto's book "Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle" for anyone looking for a good approach to HIIT and workouts in general.
on “Does HIIT burn belly fat?” ↗…have a "migration path" for getting off of it. The goal is to improve your metabolism. Not to lose weight, losing weight is a side effect. Note: lost 25 kg ( 1/4th) thanks to the book of Tom Venuto - Burn the fat, feed the muscle. It gives a lot of knowledge of why, instead of only how.

on “Ask HN: What's your secret diet tip you can share?” ↗…approx 2 hours before going to sleep. - If you want results, do it a minimal of 3 x / week ( cardio, strength training) - Never be hungry! - Read about what you do or why you do it ( eg. Tom Venuto - Burn the fat, feed the muscle) - Workout according your capabilities, sport is 40% of losing weight. 60% is having better food choices. - Don't start alone, but be prepared to continue it alone though ( eg. partner is not going…

on “The Akrasia Effect: Why We Don’t Follow Through on What We Set Out to Do” ↗…requirements. I'm not saying it's impossible for women. I'm saying it's harder to have fast results with weight training. For women, cardio is normally a faster way to get lean fast. I suggest to read the book: Burn the fat, feed the muscle which has really learned me a lot about "the body", metabolism and losing weight
on “Show HN: The 8 hour diet web app” ↗I'm fat again, but had awesome good results with the book: burn the fat, feed the muscle. Biggest problem is, i get back into my old habbits.. It took 2 years to regain my weight that i lost in 6 months ( 25 kg = 55 pounds) -- way more muscle than i had before. Short: - Eat every 3 hours…

I also think that alcohol lowers your metabolism You want reading material with more information? Try Tom Ventuo with "Burn the fat, feed the muscle". ( you'll learn more about calorie cycling and much more then what i've said here) You want another good author ( short / good articles), search for anything of Lyle McDonald. Eg. http://www.bodyrecomposition.com/
on “A Diet and Exercise Plan to Lose Weight and Gain Muscle” ↗I actually lost 79 lbs (25 kgs) from 220 lbs to 165 lbs in 6 months with an ebook (Burn The Fat, Feed The Muscle), together with a lot of exercise (1-2 hours a day)... Remember that my genes aren't easy and i did a lot for it. (None of my family is actually slim). I did that 3 years ago at the end of college. This…
on “Losing 58.3 Lbs for Science” ↗To me it's just stop eating AND drinking at least 2 hrs before going to bed.
