If the intelligence/SOE component of WWII interests you, I cannot recommend enough the book "Bodyguard of Lies" by Anthony Cave Brown. on “When Ian Fleming picked my grandfather to steal Nazi secrets” ↗Or this one: "Bodyguard of Lies: The Extraordinary True Story Behind D-Day" by Anthony Cave Brown. Still my all time favorite WWII book. https://www.amazon.com/Bodyguard-Lies-Extraordinary-Story-Be...
on “A Chicken Farmer Spy Who Tricked Hitler and Saved D-Day” ↗Perhaps you'll like the Bodyguard of Lies (http://www.amazon.com/Bodyguard-Lies-Extraordinary-Story-Beh...). It largely focuses on the utilitarian sacrifices that were forcibly made in order to maintain the intelligence advantage.
on “The piece of paper that fooled Hitler” ↗
